Tenzin Robert Thurman became a Tibetan monk at age 24. He's a professor of
Indo-Tibetan Buddhist studies at Columbia University, and co-founder of
Tibet House US, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and promotion of
Tibetan civilization.
