Mindfulness

"Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives.  It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each moment.  When we remember to be more be more awake no matter what is happening, the quality of our actually changes.  We feel feel more alive.  We also gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for coping effectively with stress.  Mindfulness can be helpful in facing life's challenges, whether or not the problems are medical ones."

                                             BASICS OF MINDFULNESS

*     Mindfulness can be defined as paying attention, in the present moment, without judgement.

*     Developing the ability to pay non-judgmental attention to our present moment experience can help us:
      - awaken from living life on automatic pilot and live more consciously;
      - live more fully and joyfully,
      - learn from our difficult experience to develop more resourceful strategies,
      - build concentration by training the mind to pay attention,
      - let go of judgement of ourselves and others.

*     Mindfulness Meditation is the way we train ourselves to pay attention in the present moment.
