COMPASSION

Affirmation of life is the spiritual act by which man ceases to live thoughtlessly and begins to devote himself to his life
with reverence in order to give it true value.

Practice, Practice, Practice.

If your mind isn't shrouded by unnecessary things,
This is the best season of your life.
~Wu-Men

Try reminding yourself while meditating, "This is it."  Just keep returning to the breath when the mind wanders, stringing moments of mindfulness together, breath by breath.

Ask yourself throughout the day,  "Am i Awake?, Where is my mind right now?"

Practice Mindfulness  by committing fully  in each moment to being present.  The spirit of mindfulness is to practice for its own sake.  You don't have to go out of your way or find someplace special to practice mindfulness.  It is sufficient to make a little time in your life for stillness and non-doing and to tune in to your breathing.

"Only that day dawns to which we are awake."  ~Henry David Thoreau

Revel in the wonder and simplicity of present moments by practicing mindfulness.  If we are to grasp the reality of our lives while we have it, we will need to wake up to our moments.  Otherwise, whole days, even a whole life, could slip past unnoticed.

"To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts..." ~Thoreau
