Thinking about addictions to alcohol, food, drugs, danger, and so on ad infitum has kept me thinking about 'Being and Nothingness' for about 6 years or longer. It is an endlessly fascinating topic and I see connections with Buddhist thought, Existentialists, Existential Psychiatry and Mindfulness among the things I read about most. Even Mass hysteria figures into my philosophizing.
Like all things we do with intensity, it doesn't necessary pay. How do you monetize half-formed ideas. Its a hobby. I need a job to pay for my hobby and this has always been my approach. I am not a career oriented person. At the same time, poverty sucks!!!
My experimenting with blogs and sites continues. My goal is to focus on one area of interest and MAKE it pay. It is very hard to push yourself to generate cash when your spouse is busy acting out. We are truly a product of our environment and it is essential to find or make an environment in which you can thrive. That is my second goal starting with throwing out computers that are out of use and can't even be donated to worthy causes, i.e. thrift stores. It is shocking what a giant turn-off the cathode ray tue has become in the eyes of most people. Some kid in India could conquer the world if he had this ancient technology (5 years old) and had access to electricity and the internet. C'est la vie. I need to lose attachment of things I spent thousands of dollars on that don't even have scrap value in the present day!
