Joyously Releasing the Dream | minimalist packrat:
"Wisdom that may or may not help you remove clutter:
1) It’s o.k. to be overwhelmed. I have been overwhelmed about my jewelry making supplies for many years now. I waited until I was ready to face them, ready to release the dream.
2) It’s o.k. to go in stages. I got rid of some three years ago. I got rid of some two years ago. And I got rid of some last week. It’s o.k.! It’s progress. Maybe some day I’ll dig in to the heart of the matter and start culling the hard ones like my $50 tanzanite strand and my $80 rutilated quartz strand. Stages will help you release as you’re ready to release. Embrace stages.
3) You are not your stuff. I am not a jewelry artist because I own beads. I WAS a jewelry artist when it gave me pleasure to create with my beads. I am not a jewelry artist right now. I may never be one again. That’s o.k. I can be something else. And you can too. You are not your stuff. I am not my stuff. We are not our stuff.
We are better than our stuff. We are free, happy, joyous, quirky, fun, experimental, moody, dynamic and absolutely exquisite!"
