Affirmation of life is the spiritual act by which man ceases to live thoughtlessly and begins to devote himself to his life
with reverence in order to give it true value.

This is a video mainly about the 14th Dalai Lama between 1930 to 1950 before People's Republic of China was founded. During that period of time, China's official name was Republic of China ruled by Chinese Nationalist Party or Kuomingtang KMT which is currently the ruling party of Taiwan island.

This video explained how and when the title "Dalai Lama" was created, how to select the "reincarnation" after a Dalai Lama died, and how the selected boy became the Dalai Lama which is the 14th in this video.

This video also reveals an very important step of inauguration, which you probably never heard it before. It is the reincarnation boy could not be Dalai Lama until the central government grantes him the title Dalai Lama.

This video contains the involvement of Briton in Tibet.

This video also explains how and why the 14th Dalai Lama fled from China and started demanding for independence.

This documentary was made by China Central Television CCTV, but it has very little subjective material and political propaganda. The majority of the photos and footage were shot by British nationals, very little by KMT, and most of the colored footage was shot by CCTV.

Watch it, judge it, do some more research then form your own view.

If you are truly interested in Tibet, and you don't want anyone to use you as a tool for their own purpose, I recommend you to read "A History of Modern Tibet" written by Dr. Melvyn Goldstein who is the voice of Tibetan history. His wife is Tibetan and he can speak Tibetan. BTW, he portrays pre-1950 Tibet as "de facto independent" even though this is a contradiction to Chinese government's claim, he still can go to Tibet to do his research because he is a well respected Tibetan history scholar who reports facts without political preferences.

Just my two cents.
