COMPASSION

Affirmation of life is the spiritual act by which man ceases to live thoughtlessly and begins to devote himself to his life
with reverence in order to give it true value.

Nelson Mandela Art Installation

South Africa is suffering a new round of tragedies during a mining strike that authorities tried o suppress by  fire live bullets at the mine workers and killing 34 of the men.  IRONICALLY, CHARGING SOME OF THE SURVIVING MINE WORKERS WITH MURDER FOR FORCING THE POLICE TO FIRE ON THEM....

Wow! Never could have guessed so many of you would sacrifice their valuable time to create and share visual (animated) solutions for our Thursday’s illusion, The Breathing Square. Thanks guys! These kind of things really move me and pump my motivation in doing this what I do. You are truly an audience other publishers could only dream of. Have to say I’m very proud of the connection and symbiosis we have developed over the years, on this journey, where we explore wonderful world of optical illusions together! I invite you all to check back published comments for Breathing Square post, and see the fan-submitted attachments containing the solution.

For today, here’s an art installation submitted by Puka Bear. I think it’s best we let Puka explain for himself what these two photos represent:

A monument to Nelson Mandela in Howick, South Africa. From the correct angle, the 50 steel columns depict his face. It commemorates 50 years since Mandela was arrested and charged with treason at this location. Designed by Marco Cianfanelli, unveiled in 2012 – Puka Bear

Striking Workers March On South Africa Mine

Armoured police are deployed as protesters try to reach the Marikana mine to urge those still working there to join the strike.

More than 500 miners have marched on a South African platinum mine, waving sticks and pictures of 34 colleagues shot dead by police.

Police helicopters have been flying overhead and officers in armoured vehicles watched as the protesters made their way from the illegal shantytown where they live to the Lonmin mine in Marikana.

The miners walked out on August 10 calling for higher wages, but the protest turned into violence on August 16 when 34 miners were gunned down during a confrontation with police.

Lonmin, the world's third biggest platinum producer

Talks between the London-based company's management, unions and the government have failed to get the miners back to work and the chances of success appear slim when they resume.

Marikana accounts for the vast majority of the platinum output of Lonmin, which itself accounts for 12% of global supply of the precious metal used in jewellery and vehicle catalytic converters.

World platinum prices have risen more than 10% .....
