When the foliage doesn't receive enough sunlight it will die off very slowly, most of the time in the inner parts of the tree. By removing this weak and dead foliage, a lot of the energy that was being directed towards keeping those weak foliage green will be redirected toward back budding. Removing seeds will also save your tree a lot of energy.
The Juniper Forest has been in rehab for the last year and a half, I hope to have it back into an amazing bonsai in the next few years.
The Cypress is only a nursery stock material 2 years old. This tree has been doing very well considering the amount of pruning i did the first year. Has thrived very much! Im hoping for a lot of back budding this spring!
