Success in creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. It might also be the last, unless we learn how to avoid the risks."
He was fearing that "an extremely intelligent future AI will probably develop a drive to survive and acquire more resources as a step toward accomplishing whatever goal it has", and that "The real risk with AI isn't malice but competence. A super-intelligent AI will be extremely good at accomplishing its goals, and if those goals aren't aligned with ours, we're in trouble".
He also considered that the enormous wealth generated by machines needs to be redistributed to prevent exacerbated economic inequality.
